Sasquatch fry the Spuds, win 12-3 in series opener

Cameron Bagshaw pitched seven scoreless innings as the Sasquatch defeated the Canyon County Spuds 12-3 in the series opener Friday night. Bagshaw, a right-handed pitcher from Lake Havasu, Arizona, started for the first time on the mound and threw 11 strikeouts with only two hits allowed and zero runs.

The Sasquatch finished with seven hits but walked 14 times to tack on a season-high 14 runs against the Spuds. Cade Stuff tripled to left field to score two runs in the 2nd inning to increase the Sasquatch lead to five runs. Coach Jarrod Molnaa's squad led by as much as 12 runs until the Suds scored four runs in the final two innings.

Logan Wensley pitched in the 9th inning and ended the game on a strikeout to clinch Cameron Bagshaw's first win this season. The Sasquatch improves to 3-1 on the season and now are tied with Fremont Moo for the best record in the Clark Division.

The Spuds traveled 14 hours from Caldwell, Idaho to Spearfish, South Dakota to play in the series opener and play the Sasquatch at 6:35 M.T. tomorrow.
