SASQUATCH SIGN FIVE MORE TO 2021 SQUAD

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (November 10th, 2020)

(Spearfish, SD) – The Spearfish Sasquatch of the Expedition League signed five more key pieces to their 2021 squad over the past couple of weeks. Justin Ory & Nico Saltaformaggio from Nicholls State University, Chandler Ibach from Concordia University – St. Paul, and Cameron Bagshaw & Austin Sample from Minot State University.

MIF – Justin Ory – LaPlace, LA
Justin played two years at Delgado Community College where he managed 73 total appearances as an infielder and finished with 41 RBIs on 66 hits with 6 home runs and 32 walks. In a shortened season for Nicholls State this spring, Ory saw action in eight games, making seven starts while racking up four hits and scoring five runs. 

RHP – Nico Saltaformaggio – Destrehan, LA
Nico attended Holy Cross High School and is a freshman this fall at Nicholls State University in Thibadaux, LA. In his COVID-shortened senior year, Nico sported a 2.33 ERA with 10 strikeouts to just 1 walk over 9.0 innings pitched.

C – Chandler Ibach – Fargo, ND
A Fargo North High School graduate, Chandler was a four-year starter in baseball and was named All-State and team MVP his junior season. He also helped lead the Fargo Post 2 American Legion team to two state titles. In his freshman season at Concordia he appeared in six games while posting a .957 fielding percentage with 19 putouts and 3 fielding assists. In 2020, Chandler appeared in nine games, making seven starts for the Golden Bears. He slashed .381/.435/.524 with three RBIs and three runs scored while throwing out three of five potential base-stealers.

RHP – Cameron Bagshaw – Lake Havasu City, AZ
Cameron is an imposing righthander on the mound, standing 6’3” and weighing 220lbs. Throughout High School he sported a 1.46 ERA with 110 strikeouts to just 20 walks over 81.1 innings pitched. During his senior year, Cameron threw a no-hitter and was named to the first-team all-region team.

CIF/OF – Austin Sample – Apache Junction, AZ
Austin was a four-year letter winner in high school where he slashed .342/.474/.567 and drove in 93 runs over 109 career games. His senior year he posted a .456 batting average with five doubles, two triples, four home runs, and 23 RBI. Austin also made 14-career appearances from the mound recording a 2.34 ERA with 143 strikeouts.
