GM’s Report, October 4, 2020; Sunrise is at 8:12am and sunset is at 7:15pm for a total of 10 hours and 57 minutes of daylight. It's 36 degrees at the Christopher's household this morning. It’s been a while since my last report. I’m sure everyone knows that our 2020 season was cancelled due to COVID-19, but Terry and I still kept pretty busy down at the field during the summer months. Palmer Pioneer Varsity and JV Alliance Baseball teams used the field all summer. We offered it up to them because they didn’t have a home field and look forward to having them in 2021.  They were GREAT! When we needed help the teams showed up and did everything I needed.  Terry and I had to mow the field every other day and we did quite a bit of painting including sheds, dugouts and buildings.   We opened the concession stand for some business and maintained the bathrooms. We didn’t have the greatest weather this past summer… cold and sometimes wet.

I have the 2021 roster just about filled and will be starting the schedule this week. We’ve winterized the complex, shutting off the water to the buildings and sprinkler system and blowing out the pipes. We took a big hit with revenue businesses were shut down, but we are slowly coming back. Denise is working hard on grants and fundraising ideas; hopefully we’ll see some of those come through.

We are having our 17th Annual Dinner Auction November 21st.  Our normal venue cancelled due to COVID concerns and we had almost outgrown the space. BIG shout out to the Alaska State Fairgrounds for accommodating us at Raven Hall. Lots of space.  SOLD OUT already 😃.

Because our season was cancelled this will be our main fundraiser ANY donation is greatly appreciated.  If you have a donation for the event we’d be very appreciative or any baskets that need a home.; we’d love to take them off your hands.

That’s it for now.. Take care. Pete and Denise
