Baseball / Miners to begin seven-game road trip

The Mat-Su Miners begin a long road stretch for the next seven games that will have them playing games against both the top and bottom of the Alaska Baseball League standings.
The trip starts tonight against the Chugiak Eagle-River Chinooks at Lee Jordan Field in Chugiak that kicks off at 7:05 pm, with coverage starting at 7:00pm on Youtube (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCRMDZ40DFSpnK_O52YO6U5Q). Friday night, the Miners hit the road again for their second contest of the year against the Anchorage Glacier Pilots at Mulcahy Stadium at 7:05pm. The Miners dropped the only contest between the clubs by a 5-2 score last Saturday.
Then, the embarkment to Kenai begins. The Miners travel to Kenai to face the Peninsula Oilers starting with the series opener on Saturday at Coral Seymour Memorial Ballpark beginning 5pm, and then a quick turnaround on Sunday with a game starting at 2pm. For the last three games of the series (M-W), those games will all have a first pitch of 6pm.
The Miners currently sit at 5-4, good for a second place tie in the ABL standings with the Anchorage Glacier Pilots. The Chugiak Eagle-River Chinooks sit at the top of the standings as of Thursday afternoon with a 7-4 record. The bottom two teams in the ABL as of Thursday afternoon are the Anchorage Bucs who sit at 4-5, but are winners of three straight and the Peninsula Oilers, who sit at 2-6 and have dropped their past two games after a .500 start.
