Pacific Association Cancels 2020 Regular Season

For the 2019 season, Vallejo Admirals Dakota Freese (7-5,2.91) has been named Pacific Association of Professional Baseball Clubs Pitcher of the Year. In 2019, The Cedar Rapids native had a break-through 2019 season with the Vallejo Admirals.
Freese amassed over 90 strikeouts for the third consecutive season by striking out 94 batters in just 77.1 innings pitched. On August 17, the righty threw a complete game shutout vs. the Salina Stockade for his third career shutout. Over his 12 starts, Freese also allowed just 49 hits.
In mid-August, Freese joined the Ottawa Champions of the Canadian-American Association for their playoff push. Over his last four starts with the Admirals’, Freese held a 4-0 win-loss record in 27 innings pitched with allowing just five earned runs while striking out 37 batters.
The former 12th round 2013 MLB Amateur Draft pick of the Oakland Athletics has recently signed with the Sioux Falls Canaries of the American Association for the 2020 season.
Freese is the first Vallejo Admiral to be named Pacific Association Pitcher of the Year. Over his three seasons in the Pacific Association, Freese has played for the San Rafael Pacifics, Pittsburg Diamonds and Vallejo Admirals. The right handed pitcher also has 286 strikeouts in just 243.2 innings pitched.
2018 Pacific Association Pitcher of the Year winner Jared Koenig recently signed with the Oakland Athletics organization for the 2020 season. Koenig set a Pacific Association best 140 strikeouts in the 2018 season.
