Pacific Association Cancels 2020 Regular Season
The Pacific Association of Professional Baseball Clubs announced the cancellation of the 2020 regular season today due to ongoing health and safety concerns.
“Wait until next year!” said Commissioner Jonathan Stone in a message to fans. “The Pacific Association is using this valuable time to redesign our baseball offerings. Look for new teams and expanded live game broadcasts through our own network in 2021.”
The Pacific Association is a professional independent minor league formed in 2013. The League serves as a feeder to other independent professional leagues as well as Major League Baseball affiliated leagues. It has produced Chris Mazza, who pitched for the Mets in 2019, and featured several former Major League players as well. The Pacific Association of Professional Baseball Clubs has been recognized by Major League Baseball and the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
The Vallejo Admirals (a founding franchise), Sonoma Stompers and Napa Silverados are the core of the league. More teams and cities will be added in 2021.
