Date: Jul 17, 2020

Zane Gelphman started the 2019 season off with the Salina Stockade, a traveling team. The Salina Stockade had also played as a traveling team in the American Association and Canada American Association before playing in the Pacific Association in 2019.
Through 53 games with the Stockade, the Half Moon Bay native hit 17 home runs while driving in 37 runs.
Previously, Gelphman played two seasons of collegiate baseball at Oklahoma Baptist University, where he mashed 24 home runs and 108 RBIs while holding a .332 average.
In August, Gelphman was traded to the San Rafael Pacifics for their playoff push. The third baseman contributed instantly by having four extra base hits in just ten games. During his first season as a professional, Gelphman hit 18 home runs in 63 games while holding a .269 average.
During the Pacific Association postseason, Gelphman would hit two more home runs and five meaningful RBIs while helping the Pacifics claim their fourth Pacific Association championship.
On June 22, Gelphman would lead the Saline Stockade to a 11-7 victory vs. the San Rafael Pacifics where he would have a career day. The right handed hitter would go 5-for-5 with four runs batted in and hit a home run as well.
2018 Pacific Association Rookie of the Year winner Kenny Meimerstorf spent the 2019 season playing in the American Assocation and Frontier League. Gelphman is the first Pacific to win the award since 2017 catcher Michael Rizzitello.
