Holyoke - Danbury dropped their second game in a row, losing to the Valley Blue Sox 11-8 Saturday night.
Danbury’s pitching struggled early once again, giving up runs in each of the first five innings to put them in an early hole. However, Connor Crean came on in relief to pitch the final three innings without allowing a run, giving Danbury a chance to get in the game. With the Westerners trailing by five in the top of the ninth, they mounted a comeback, cutting the lead to three and bringing the tying run to the plate in the form of Cam Masterman. However, he would strike out looking to end the game.
With the loss, Danbury falls two games behind Mystic for the final playoff spot in the NECBL Southern Division.
After the All-Star break, the Westerners host Mystic in a crucial make or break doubleheader on Monday.
