2018 PACIFIC ASSOCIATION STANDOUT CHRIS MAZZA DAZZLES IN MLB DEBUT

Sonoma, CA.- Former 2018 San Rafael Pacifics standout Chris Mazza made his Major League Baseball debut this past Saturday June 29, 2019 vs. the Atlanta Braves.

 

Mazza dazzled in four innings pitched where he allowed just one run while striking out two. The Walnut Creek Native is the first Pacific Association of Professional Baseball Clubs player to make the MLB since the league was established in 2013.

 

In 2018, Mazza signed with the San Rafael Pacifics where held an ERA of just .59 in 30.2 innings pitched. Mazza, who was no stranger to minor league baseball played in the minor leagues for eight seasons before making his debut this past weekend. Mazza took the ball 177 times in minor league play before getting the call to the major leagues. In 480.1 affiliated innings of work and 61 games started, Mazza was 26-26 with a 3.19 ERA and 377 strikeouts. The 29 year-old has spent time in the Minnesota Twins, Miami Marlins, Seattle Mariners and New York Mets affiliates.
