GM’s Report, March 1st 2019; Sunrise is at 8:00am and sunset is at 6:24pm for a total of 10 hours and 24 minutes of daylight. Temperatures have been in the teens and upper 20s during the day with bright sunshine. Still lots of snow on the ground. Ben Taylor, the head coach for the last 6 years will not be returning for the 2019 season and 2018 assistant coach Tyler LeBrun will return as head coach as will pitching coach Jeff Urlaub. The search is on for an assistant coach that is the right fit for the Miners.

    The Mat-Su Miners' Nugget Booster Club “Cabin Fever Reliever” fundraiser is scheduled for tomorrow night March 2nd at the Palmer train depot. Tickets available at the door $50.00 and DD tickets are $20.00. Starts at 6pm and each entry ticket bought comes with a 2019 season pass!

Tickets are also on sale for the “Grand Slam Raffle” scheduled for April 27th. Each ticket sells for $100. Included is a season pass for two, dinner for two with free beer and a chance to win $10,000. Only 400 tickets sold. The 2019 roster is filled but we always lose players in the spring to injuries, summer school or pitchers that throw a lot of innings (60 or more) and get pulled back for the summer to rest and get ready for fall ball.
