Michael Johnson, a southpaw from Dartmouth, returns for his third NECBL season and first in a Gulls uniform. Johnson led the NECBL with nine starts for the North Shore Navigators last season, going 4-4 with a 2.80 ERA.

Johnson went 1-3 with a 5.53 ERA in eight starts for North Shore in 2010. Johnson came within one out of a complete game shutout against the Newport Gulls in a 2-0 Navigators win in Game 2 of the NECBL Championship series that season. North Shore went on to defeat Newport in Game 3 and win the NECBL Championship, sweeping the Danbury Westerners in two games.
