Hannibal, MO - The Hannibal Hoots have announced that Clayton Hicks will be returning in 2019 to be the on field manager. The General Manager, Matt Stembridge said in a comment, "We are so very excited to be bringing back Coach Hicks in 2019. He did an outstanding job last year in our inaugural year. Much of our success stemmed from his vision and he and his staff's ability to communicate that vision to our guys."

Coach Hicks will be returning to Clemens Field with a number of familiar faces joining him on the roster. The team is currently recruiting for the 2019 season and will be releasing the final roster in weeks to come. For a preview of the roster be sure to check out the team's social media pages.

Coach Hicks enters his fifth season as the head assistant coach at Danville Area Community College. In Hannibal, Coach Hicks looks to build upon a successful inaugural campaign. "We learned a lot in the first year. We had stretches that were really tough.. We had others that we really neat to be apart of (Hoots had the longest winning streak in the Prospect League in 2018 - 10 games). We start with high character people.. We do our best to help them develop and ultimately try to overachieve with each guy. When you get a good group of people together, special things can happen." commented Coach Hicks.

There will be two new additions to the coaching staff this year at Clemens Field. Coach Hicks has hired two young assistants to help shoulder the load. Newcomers Tommy Haas (University of the Ozarks) and Matt Crook (Lindenwood Bellville University) will be asked to take over the vacancies left by Kevin Cali (Culver Stockton) and Jacob Walters (Quincy University).
