Beckstein wins Futures League Manager of the Year!

LACONIA, NH - The NECBL has announced that Winnipesaukee Muskrats DH, Steven Passatempo, will be the starting DH for the Northern Division at the NECBL All-Star Game, this Sunday July 29th. First pitch is at 5:10pm at Mackenzie Stadium in Holyoke, MA. In addition, CF, Mason Calloway will be representing in the 60 yard dash and 1B, Po-Hao "Bernie" Huang is the Muskrats entry into the Home Run Derby. Additionally, Huang has been nominated as Winnipesaukee's contender for All-Star Fan Vote. Voting is open from Monday July 23rd until Thursday July 26th at midnight and can be accessed at vote18.necbl.com.

John Raiola the Valley Blue Sox head coach will manage the Northern Division All-Stars. This will be his first ever All-Star team.
Catcher Steven Passatempo (University of Massachusetts Lowell) has a batting average of .294 as of July 21. He has hit 6 doubles, an impressive 9 home runs and has recorded 25 RBI in 119 at bats. Passatempo has played in 32 games of 37 for the Muskrats.
Center Fielder Mason Calloway (Savannah State University) has appeared in 33 of 37 games for Winnipesaukee as of July 21st. He has a .286 batting average with 30 hits, 3 doubles, and adding 9 RBIs for the Muskrats in 105 at bats. Calloway has an impressive 18 stolen bases in 26 attempts and is arguably the fastest Muskrat on the roster this season.
3B/1B Po-Hao "Bernie" Huang (Fu Jen Catholic University), has had a stellar season with the Muskrats so far. As of July 23rd, he leads the league in home runs by 3. From July 3rd to July 8th he hit an unheard of 9 home runs, and knocked in 17 runs. He has an impressive .370 batting average, having hit 13 home runs and 3 doubles. He has recorded 23 RBI for the Muskrats in 73 at bats this season. Huang was recently named as Week 5 NECBL Player of the week.
Tickets to the All-Star game are currently being sold on the Valley Blue Sox website. Gates will open at noon and will be followed by the Homerun Derby, the 60-yard dash and then the All-Star Game itself.
