Hometown kid gets first win as a Grader!

Galion, OH- After starting off the season in historic fashion, the Graders lose a tough one tonight by the score of 12-9.
The Graders struck first in the ballgame after Todd Sekowski was hit by a pitch to be the first man on for the Graders. They managed to score Sekowski without recording a hit after a wild pitch and a passed ball, Sekowski ended up on third. Stone then walked, Reimold was hit by a pitch, and Pavone was hit by a pitch to score Sekowski from third making the score 1-0.
In the top of the second, the Scouts responded with a run of their own. Bertelsman led off the inning with a walk, stole second, then advanced to third on a throwing error by the catcher Massey. The next batter Eder, hit a sac fly to right field to tie the game at one run a piece. From there, it was a slug fest by both teams.
The Graders offense would score 9 on the night, but would leave 15 on base through 9 innings.
Jose De La Cruz would take a loss on the night for your Graders. Only going 3 1/3 innings, 8H, 8R, 7ER, 5BB, and 3K. Nick Smith would pitch in relief going 5 1/3, 4H, 4R, 2ER, 2BB, and 7K.
Your Graders are back in action tomorrow night against the Richmond Jazz in Richmond for a double header that starts at 5:05pm!
