DI goaltenders Marc Hayton & Cory Wasilewski along with Max Johnson on the DII team will be returning for their final season in 2018/2019.  Although this gives the program an area of strength it also presents the challenge of bringing in high quality goaltenders ready to compete for playing time in the program now and to battle their way to the top of the depth chart for the future.

Adam Lindeman of Beaver Dam, Wisconsin is the perfect fit for that role.  Coach DiNardi, the Redbird DI Head Coach remarked "We're excited to add Adam.  He shores up our cage for four more years.  Coach Pearson of the USPHL's Decatur Blaze spoke highly of his character and willingness to battle for playing time as much as he battles for the puck on the ice."

Blaze Head Coach Zac Pearson stated "I am excited for Adam to take his next step in his career and play for a top notch program in Illinois State University.  Adam has worked hard to be where he is and continue to get better in his college career."

Redbird DII Head Coach Michael Hernbrott adds "We had been scouting Adam for a few years.  Once we identified him as a player that would be the right fit within our program I got to know Adam a little better.  He's a hard working player.  He knows what work he needs to do to continue to succeed.  We're looking forward to having be part of the Redbird Hockey tradition."

We asked Adam to tell us about himself a little so we could introduce him to our fans and families.

What was/were the reason(s) you chose the school?

I thought the campus was beautiful and seemed exactly like the kind of school environment I was hoping to find – the perfect place to combine a great education and the opportunity to continue to play hockey.

What was/were the reason(s) you chose the Hockey program?

I felt a good connection with the coaches. They seem very knowledgeable, and I believe they will challenge and push me to improve my game.

Anyone you’d like to thank in helping you get to this point?

Absolutely – my entire family, Coach Pearson and the Decatur Blaze organization, my high school coach, and the many others who’ve helped and encouraged me along the way.

What are your interests outside of hockey?

Xbox and hanging out with my friends

What are your parents names and do you have any siblings?

Chris and Bob Lindeman.  I have a twin brother, Alex, and a younger sister, Tierney Jo.

Is there a goalie you have tried to model yourself after?

As a kid, I was inspired by Brian Elliot. I met him at a “Skate with the Badgers” event, and he became my childhood idol. I wanted to become a goalie just like him.

We know you are coming from the Blaze. What youth hockey organizations(s) did you play for?

I played for the Beaver Dam Youth Hockey Association in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. I also played a spring season with Bill Zaniboni and the Madhatters Elite.

Did you play any other sports?

I was a pitcher/catcher in baseball, and I played a variety of positions (everything but lineman) in football.

Sounds great Adam.  Welcome to the family!
