Redbirds welcome stout forward Tony Campise!

Former teammates with the Chicago Bruins CSDHL program Anthony Carcerano and Ryan Kelly will be joining another former Bruin Niko Castino next season for the Redbirds.
Ryan Kelly has just finished up his season with the Minnesota Moose of the USPHL where the team with a 43-9 record which led them to the National Championships in Boston earlier this month. Beyond being a Bruins Alumni, Ryan is also an alumni of Glenbard HS where he averaged over a point a game for his career.
Ryan is looking forward to competing with his former teammates and friends at Illinois State. He loves the fact that the school is located close to home. He will be majoring in Business and is excited about starting his College hockey career. Ryan considers himself a playmaker on the ice. DII Head Coach, Michael Hernbrott agrees with that assessment. "Adding Ryan to our roster of returning veterans, including some of his former teammates is going to have an immediate impact on our offensive production." "Ryan attended a Prospect camp before last season before choosing to go play a year at Juniors. While we were impressed with him at those camps, we do want our players to make the right decision for them. Ryan felt he was not ready and we respected that. In reality, by gaining that year on a really good team at Juniors will only benefit him and our program in the long run." said Coach DiNardi - DI Head Coach.
Anthony Carcerano has had an outstanding year this season with the Bruins as well as the DuPage Stars High School Club. The CSDHL Bruins in particular have earned a lot of hardware. CCM World Invite Chicago 18U AAA Champions, MyHockey Chicago Thanksgiving Classic Champions, Silver Stick Mid-Am Regional Champions, International Silver Stick Finals Midget AA Runner-Up, Illinois State 18U AA Champions, CSDHL Midget 18U AA Regular Season Champions, CSDHL Midget 18U AA Tournament Champions. They are also on the way to Nationals.
Anthony led his team in scoring and was the third leading scorer in the CSDHL with a total of 37 points in 26 games.
"I've been following Anthony all year and I'm really excited to see him in our program. He has an engine that does not quit. Even though he is a gifted offensive threat I am most impressed with the effort he gives up and down the ice." Coach Hernbrott
