Canada 3, Cape Code 5 Game # 1

In the opening game of the 2017 hero’s cup elite division play the Canadian Firefighters Ice Hockey Club visited the Cape Code Black Knights, a team of Police from all over Cape Cod Massachusetts.  The game was a fast pace game both ways but the first period would prove to be a true test for Canada as they found them self’s on the defense most of the time.  Goaltender Sheldon Johnson came up huge with some key stops in to keep the game tied at 0-0. Cape code would find there way on the board in the second when a 2 on 1 lead to the first goal. Cape code would add 3 more to make it 4-0 but Canada would fight back. Starting with Danny Labarre who would put one over the shoulder of the capes tender, Frank Foster would also answer with a shot from the point going five hole.  Gong in to the third it was 4-2 but Canada would go short-handed when Steve Marcellus got 2 for slashing.  Canada’s Domminic Godard would receive a pass and go in on a short handed breakaway and score to make it 4-3.  Johnson would stand on his head all game and Ebony Rama playing her first every CFFHC game was huge! Canada only dressed thee defensemen and Ebony embrace the challenge. Linc Holske sustained an injury in the second and is a game time decision for tonight’s game.  Canada will play New England Police on Saturday at 11am.
