With the hero’s cup less then a week away the Canadian Firefighters National Hockey club and its members are making final preparations for the event! After brining home gold at the International Games last year the presser and expectation on the club is amerce! The team will arrive in Boston from all around Canada on Thursday afternoon.  The team will skate for the first time as a unit on Thursday night at the Foxboro Sports Center in Foxboro Massachusetts where the coach will be putting the though several evolutions prior to the beginning of the tournament.

Canada will take the ice Friday with some new faces in the line up and some old faces missing! Several members of the world championship team will be missing including All Star Goaltender Bryce Luker who will not be joining the team this year due to personal reason! Canada will also miss forward Joel Bates who is not playing this year.

Canada is fighting the injury bug as well. Forward Eric Peace will sit this one on the sidelines with a lower body injury! Peace who scored six goals last season and 7 assist last year has been sidelined for the better part of the year after sustaining a lower body injury in a game past season. Peace and Alternate Captain for Canada will be a huge loss, I his stead Forward Joel Chartland will wear the “A”  on his chest this season.

Canada is also waiting word on Captain Jonathan Cuneo, who is day to day with a lower body injury, Cuneo has been on the ice minimal amount fighting off an injury. Cuneo who scored three goals last year and had 5 assist will be a game time decision.

Canada will see some new fresh faces this year as well when Ebony Rama the first female in CFFHC history will suit up, as will two members from Team United States Firefighters Hockey Club in Defensemen Frank Foster and Forward Linc Holske.
