As we start taking a look each week at the members that helped the Canadian Firefighters National Hockey Club become the 2016 International Games Champions! We start with a critical piece of the team.

Today we take a quick look at Yan Verhoef, Yan is from Ontario and currently plays senior hockey for the Marieville LesCastors Seinor A club with CFFHC star goaltender Bryce Luker! Yan is a firefighter for the Saint Cesaire Fire Department. Yan lined up at the blue line as one of the teams top defensemen but that would not stop him from putting the puck in the net a few time.

Yan the 6 foot plus defenseman found him self on the score board in game # 1 against Stanford Police. Yan will often be seen streaking down the high slot toward the net once his team has the puck. Yan is a fast moving D-Man with a killer shot that often finds it way to the back of the net.

Yan is a center piece in the dressing room as well, always keeping the mood up in the room and is often helping his team mates fix the small mistakes in there game1 Yan is a solid players that opponent find very difficult to get around.

Yan was a huge asset to the team and is ready to go for the Hero’s Games in 2017.
