Lawrence Survives Defending Champs

Date:  Source: Chicago Stats League

Lawrence University keeps their momentum with a tough victory over the Big Red Bears. They continue the balance on the offensive side, with an impressive 22 assists on 28 made field goals. Their tough defense stifled much of the Bears, except for Kevin Kucera, who was unstoppable finishing with 30 points 5 rebounds and 5 assists.

This game was back and forth, but the Big Red Bears and Kucera had control throughout. He had it going all game, but as the Lawrence defense keyed in on him, the rest of the Bears weren’t able to hit big shots in the 4th. They watched the lead they had the entire game being taken away by a strong 23-11 Lawrence 4th quarter led by Jeremy Stephani who led the team in both points and assists with 15 and 7. Lawrence pulls it out 75-69, in  a game with 2 teams that will be tough opponents every night.
