Jabari Giving Back to Chicago
Date: Aug 26, 2016

In a matchup widely recognized as the 2 preseason favorites, LFG and Runs House did not disappoint. While LFG controlled the entire season and league with incredible ball movement and team balance, relying on knock down shooting, strong finishes, or team defense, whichever was needed, Runs House presented a tough element of physicality and athleticism they couldn’t seem to shake. LFG controlled an early lead with the help of Luke Fabrizius and his early success, but Runs House defense would tighten up on him.
Mike Fakuade’s defense specifically, including 2 major blocks in addition to the physical nature of their team defense, shots starting going in and out for LFG. They were pushed off their spots, and while not agreeing with every call, long rebounds allowed Runs House to get in transition where Charles McKinney and Rodney Metallus were devastating. Runs House completed the upset of the #1 seed to avenge last year’s Final 4 lost and gave them a chance at the title.
