Carthage Over Lake Forest

Date:  Source: Chicago Stats League

Carthage College, who was coming off a tough loss to Lawrence, made sure they had the balance they did not have in their opener.  Seven out of their 9 players who suited up shot at least 6 times, with no players taking more than 10 shots total. Matt Acevado was one of the most efficient; scoring a team high 13 adding 3 rebounds and 2 assists.

Meanwhile Lake Forest couldn’t get anything going from any one not named Danny Sotos, who had his way on the offensive end, especially in the first half. He finished the game with 23 but not before Carthage stifled him and the Lake Forest offense, holding them to just 21 team points in the 2nd half. Carthage’s ball movement and smart shot selection helped them prevail with assists on many of their made field goals. Lake Forest may need some help from the bench, as they have had 5 or 6 players for each of their games, while the 4th quarter is their lowest scoring quarter.
