Knerr's big game bests Maryland in 6-3 New York win

New York's Paul Knerr had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 6-3 win over Maryland.

Knerr scored at 3:14 into the first period to make the score 2-0 New York and again while 16:59 into the first to make the score 3-0 New York.

New York got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

New York also got points from Anthony Misiti, who also racked up one goal and one assist. New York also had goals scored by Issac Eubanks, Kenny Dee, and Tanner Orr, who scored one goal each. More assists for New York came via Tyler Wolf, Cameron Drake, and Joe Ditullo, who each chipped in one.

Maryland's offense was handcuffed by New York's defensive play, and Maryland managed only 14 shots on goal during the game.

Maryland was helped by Benjamin Barrett, who finished with one goal. Barrett scored 7:55 into the third period to make the score 4-3 New York. Tim Cheban picked up the assist. Maryland additionally got points from Cheban, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Maryland also got a goal from Joseph Kolega as well. Other players who recorded assists for Maryland were Rowan McCarthy and Justin Milburn, who contributed one each.

James Sooisson rejected 11 shots on goal for New York. New York incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Maryland's Jake Zastrow stopped 20 shots out of the 26 that he faced. Maryland incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
