Utah squeaks by Oregon, 4-2

The game between Utah and Oregon was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Utah emerged with a 4-2 win.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Jayson Rencher secured the win for Utah with a goal in the second period.

Rencher was all over the ice for Utah, as he finished with two goals in the win.

Utah's goal total was higher than its season average. Utah averages 1.8 goal per game. Utah did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting 12 shots on net to force eight saves. Utah could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 16 minutes in penalties during the game.

Utah additionally got points from Wes Prime, who also had one goal and one assist. Utah also got a goal from Kyle Watson as well. In addition, Utah received assists from Ben Mccleery, who had one and Trevor Fisher, who had two.

Oregon's offense rang up 50 shots on Utah's net. Oregon struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 14 penalty minutes for four opposing power plays.

Oregon was led by Nathan Lutz, who racked up one goal and one assist. Lutz scored on the power play 5:58 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Joshua Gillrie assisted on the tally. Christopher Romig also scored for Oregon.

Devin Bain recorded 48 saves for Utah. Noah Masog made eight saves for Oregon on 12 shots. Oregon registered one goal on five power play opportunities.
