Saints' Players Reach Milestones

The Central Wisconsin Saints are proud to announce the three players selected from the team for the 2011-2012 GLJHL All-Star Game and Skills Competiton are Forwards Mike Mitch, Max Culp and Defenseman Mikey Tiberi. The events will be held at Alice Nobel Arena in Wooster, Ohio on January 14th and 15th. All three players are in their second season with Central Wisconsin.
Max Culp joined the Saints in the 2010-2011 season and posted 45 points in 38 games. Culp played on the Saints' second line. This season he returned to Central Wisconsin and has improved his numbers setting career highs in points and goals in just 27 goals. The Waukesha, Wisconsin native has posted 23 goals and 24 assists for 47 points while also serving in a leadership role as an assistant captain.
Culp posses a wicked shot and incredible speed on the ice. More than that he is usually the hardest working player on the ice and gives his all every shift. Clocking in at only 5' 7" and 165 lbs. Culp does not shy away from throwing the body around. He plays well down below the goal line and when he's battling in front of the net.
Joining Culp on the team will be linemate Michael Mitch. Mitch joined the team in 2010-2012 as well posting 17 points in 34 games in limited third line minutes. Mitch was a late returnee for the Saints arriving to the club 8 games into the season. Mitch has scored 16 goals and 34 points in the 22 games since his return and has filled out the Saints' top unit with Kyle Harnish and Culp.
Mitch is a pure sniper, utilizing speed, positioning and a blazing wrist shot he's able to light up opposing nets. His cool head and hockey smarts allow him to be in position when it the puck is loose and make the right pass to make sure his teammates can score. Mitch plays in all situations and can be a game chager at any time.
Mikey Tiberi is a three year veteran of the GLJHL. In 2009-2010 he had 15 goals and 26 points as a forward for the Wisconsin Rampage. In 2010-2011 he joined the in-state rival Saints and played both forward and defense en route to a 10 point season. He return to Central Wisconsin just in time to start the season and leads all Saints' Defensemen with 13 points while playing first-pairing minutes every night.
Tiberi is an offensive minded defenseman who has worked hard to become a stable shutdown presence on the backend. Tiberi is fast which allows him to get up the ice quickly and makes smart breakaway passes to forwards when moving the puck out of his own zone. . On defense his active stick makes it hard for forwards to get around him on the rush.
The players will play one game at 2:30 PM before they participate in a skills competition during the evening on Saturday. Another game will be held Sunday at 10:30 AM. All of the events will be broadcast on www.fasthockey.com. All three players will be back in action with the Saints at home on Friday, January 27th.
