The Goulbourn Hornets U16 Boys team brought home a bronze medal from the Centaurs Classic Basketball Tournament held in Cambridge Ont. March 27-28.

The Midget Boys basketball team had a slow start during their first game versus a strong Mississauga Wolverines team. The 6-hour travel and a late 8pm game showed during their first quarter play. However, the Hornets demonstrated their resiliency and played through their fatigue and won the game 60-45.

The second day of the tournament found the Hornets in the semi-final game versus a very talented Blessed Sacrament team. Down by 22 points during the first quarter, the determined Hornets cut the deficit by 8 points going into the third quarter. Unfortunately, time ran out and the Hornets suffered their first defeat of the tournament.

The Hornets then faced the host team, Cambridge Centaurs, in the bronze medal game. The two teams were separated by one point at the end of the first quarter. The start of the second quarter saw the Hornets relentless defence come alive and they never looked back winning the bronze medal 73-33.
