The Guelph Hurricanes were firing on all cylinders against the Cambridge Winter Hawks, and when the final buzzer sounded Hurricanes emerged with a 3-0 win.

Guelph's penalty kill excelled, as the Hurricanes gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

Guelph was paced by Alex Ritchie, who tallied one goal. Ritchie scored 2:20 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Guelph.

The Hurricanes stifled Cambridge's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Guelph additionally got points from Cameron Stokes, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Guelph also got a goal from Brody Milne as well. In addition, Guelph received assists from Stefano Pezzetta, who had two.

The Winter Hawks' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on nine Guelph power plays. Cambridge could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The Winter Hawks put an average of 2.5 pucks into the net per game. Cambridge could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 40 minutes in penalties during the game.

Jason DaSilva made 22 saves for Guelph on 22 shots. The Hurricanes incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Scott Patton rejected 26 shots on goal for the Winter Hawks.
