Another week and another 2 losses for the Tigers. It has been a frustrating last few weeks for the Tigers are they are falling further behind in the standings. The club looking for a spark has acquired 19 year old Goaltender Brendan Plant from the Lloydminster Bandits for future considerations. The Lashburn, Saskatchewan product is in his 2nd year in the NEAJBHL and is excited about the opportunity to join the Tigers. Through 5 games this season he sits with a record of 3-2 with a 2.51 goals against average and a .916 save percentage. A corresponding roster move can be expected in the coming days.
The Tigers welcomed Killam on Wednesday, November 18th and like the other 2 meetings it was one sided as Killam walked away with a 3-1 victory. The Tigers managed 17 shots on goal which was the ultimate downfall and went over 20 minutes without recording a shot. Nolan Blair was the lone bright spot as he tallied for the jungle cats and goaltender Danton Brooks had a solid effort with 35 saves.
The Tigers hit the road on Friday, November 20th to face the Cold Lake Ice. The Tigers won the last time they faced the Ice so they were ready for the challenge. The injury bug hit the team early and often as forward Nolan Blair and defenseman Layne Zack were both lost early to lower body injuries and the team wasn't able to rebound. The result, a 5-1 loss. Captain Spencer Ross notched his first of the season in the defeat.
News and Notes: The Tigers are also dealing with injuries to forward Carter Myhovich (lower body) and defenseman and assistant captain Jared Golinowski (lower body). The club returns to action this Friday at home against Wainwright for the first of a home and home.
