The Tigers opened up their 2017-2018 preseason schedule over the weekend playing a pair of road games. The Tigers squared off against the defending league champion Wainwright Bisons in Viking. The Tigers played an aggressive game and kept it close. A third period powerplay made it interesting but the bounces didn't go the Tigers way. A late goal and an empty netter sealed a 4-1 victory for the Bisons. Foster Steinhubel scored the lone goal for the Tigers.

The boys were back on the bus again on Saturday as the Capital League's Sherwood Park Knights welcomed the Yellow and Black to their barn. It was a feisty affair as a couple of early scraps set the tone for an edgy contest. The Tigers were down 3-2 in the third when veteran forward Brayden Wilson dropped the mitts and sparked the team to a 4-3 victory. Veterans Maguire Blair, Evan Bardoel and Lucas Dennill all notched goals. 

Former Tigers captain Ryan Mauws joined the coaching staff this season along side returning head coach Ryan Earl. The Tigers return to action this upcoming Friday, September 22nd at 8pm at the Stadium vs Cold Lake.
