Allan Cup Hockey looking at return to Brantford
Date: Jun 5, 2024

Fans at the Iroquois Park arena were treated to a sensational game of Allan Cup hockey last night. as the visiting Brantford Blast out duelled the Whitby Dunlops 1-0. It took a quick wrist shot over the outstretched glove of Dunlop goalie Jason Guy by Brantford's Mike Burgoyne to settle the outcome. Burgoyne was the eighth shooter of the shootout as Brantford's goaltender Anthony Marshall outlasted Whitby's Jason Guy. Both goalies were nothing short of sensational all evening as Whitby outshot the Blast 46-40.
This game was what Allan Cup hockey is all about. Both teams fought tooth and nail all evening, with neither one giving an inch. The competitiveness of each team was evident from the opening puck drop, and opened the door for one of the most incredible shows of goaltending skill by both goaltenders. Marshall and Guy were easily the first two stars of the game.
Compliments to both teams for providing an exceptional display of ability and competitiveness. Regardless of points earned, Allan Cup hockey was the winner!
