The Tigers have hit a wall and are struggling to find success of late. 3 straight lopsided losses leave the Tigers at the bottom of the NEAJBHL standings. It's gut check time in the locker room as the players need to dig themselves out of this hole and raise their compete level.
The Killam Wheat Kings had no problem dispatching the jungle cats on Friday in Killam as they scored 7 times in a landslide win. The Tigers came out strong in the first 10 minutes of the 2nd period but we're unable to capitalize on numerous chances. Dalyn Borysiuk had the lone marker for the Tigers.
Saturday saw St. Paul make their first visit to Vermilion of the season. The Canadiens took the first meeting of the season back in October and the Tigers we're looking to draw even. The yellow and black came out strong scoring early as Evan Bardoel put home a rebound to open the scoring. St. Paul proved to be too tough an opponent as some undisciplined play cost the Tigers. St. Paul finished the game 5-10 on the power play. Rookie Jake McCormack notched his first NEAJBHL goal and Carter Myhovich also tallied as the Tigers fell 6-3.
A short week ahead for the Tigers as Killam comes to Vermilion wednesday for their 3rd meeting of the season. The Tigers then hit the road to Cold Lake on Friday before the Wainwright Bisons make their first visit to Vermilion on Friday, November 27th.
News and notes: Home crowds have been outstanding to start the season and the Tigers appreciate the support. The deadline to reduce rosters is approaching quickly as the December 1st deadline looms. Coach Durwin Selte will have some tough choices to make.
