TIGERS PRESS RELEASE OCTOBER 8, 2017
Date: Oct 8, 2017
Press Release
Was a week of high's and low's for the Tigers this week. The biggest high was a 2-1 double OT win over the Lloydminster Bandits on Friday night. A large home crowd enjoyed plenty of scoring chances and highlight reel saves by both goaltenders. Nolan Blair and Ryan VanGenderen led the way for the Tigers. Danton Brooks made 36 stops in the victory.
The Jr B's and the hockey community lost a former Tiger President and current County of Vermilion River Councillor last week. Dave Gamracy passed away suddenly and the community is mourning his loss. The Vermilion Jr B Tigers want to pass along our condolences to his family, friends and colleagues. Once a Tiger, Always a Tiger.
The Onion Lake Border Chiefs rolled into town on Sunday having played their 3rd game in 5 days. They looked unstoppable on route to a 6-1 thumping of the yellow and black. The league's top scorer Regan Yew added to his total with 2 goals. Carter Myhovich had the lone goal for the Tigers.
The Tigers return to action this Friday as they make their final trip to Killam for the season. On Saturday, the St. Paul Canadiens make their first trip to Vermilion. St. Paul won the only contest this season 6-2 back on October 16th.
