The Vermilion Junior B Tigers Hockey Club is pleased to announce the re-signing of head coach Durwin Selte to a 2 year deal.

The former Tigers player took over the helm back in the 2013-2014 season, pacing the club to a 6th place finish and a playoff berth.

Durwin brings a vast level of coaching and mentoring experience as well as being a member of the coaching staff when the Tigers won the NEAJBHL crown in 2008.

Joining Durwin on his coaching staff are returning Associate Coach and former Tiger, Eddie Vidal. Eddie and Durwin have coached together at multiple levels of Junior hockey. Eddie also doubles as the teams trainer.

In addition to Durwin and Eddie we welcome first year Associate Coach Dusty Irvine. Dusty is also an Alumni of the Tigers and brings a strong defensive focus to the fold as a former goaltender.

The Tigers begin the 2015-2016 season on the road in Vegreville on Friday, October 2nd to face the Rangers.

Our home opener is slated for Saturday, October 17th at 8:00pm at the Vermilion Stadium as we welcome the defending league champion Cold Lake Ice.

And save the date for the annual Chris Cusack Memorial game and fundraiser for STARS Air Ambulance. The game is scheduled for Saturday, December 5th at 8pm.

We thank Durwin and his wife Karen and children Rhyan, Ashton and Tenley as well to Eddie and his wife Alex and children Caleb and Sidney for their support. The time away from home at practices, games and events are greatly appreciated by the Tigers Hockey Club and executive.
