Perth Pelicans vanquishes Perth Sharks in shootout, 6-5 (2-0 SO)

Perth Pelicans and Perth Sharks both failed to score in overtime, but Perth Pelicans won the game 6-5 (2-0 SO) after Kieren Webster's deciding goal in the shootout.

The shootout featured five attempts between both teams. In addition to the clincher, Perth Pelicans got a shootout goal from Webster.

Webster had a great game for Perth Pelicans, netting two goals. Webster scored at 13:54 into the second period to make the score 4-3 Perth Pelicans and again while on the power play 8:10 into the third to make the score 5-3 Perth Pelicans.

Perth Pelicans put 21 shots on net during the contest, more than the 3.2 it averages per game. Perth Pelicans outdid its season average for goals scored. This season, Perth Pelicans averages 3.6 goals per contest.

Perth Pelicans was led by Webster, who tallied two goals. Perth Pelicans additionally got points from Lyndon Lodge, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Jordan Williams, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Jonathon Spalding also scored for Perth Pelicans. More assists for Perth Pelicans came via Rhys Dumpleton, who had two and Ryan Smith and Craig Houston, who contributed one each.

With 18 shots on target during the contest, Perth Sharks exceeded the 4.3 shots it averages per game this year.

Perth Sharks was led by Tomek Sak, who registered three goals and one assist. Perth Sharks also got points from William Moffatt, who also had one goal and two assists.
