HAVOC FREE AGENT SHOWCASE TO START THIS WEEKEND
Date: Jul 24, 2014
HUNTSVILLE, AL – Huntsville Havoc coaches Glenn Detulleo and Jordan Little selected two players from this past weekend’s Free Agent Showcase to attend the main Havoc camp in October.
Forwards Brian Slugocki and Denis Semenov will both be battling for a spot on the roster when training camp opens in mid-October.
“This weekend was a great success,” Detulleo said. “We had a talented group of players show up and compete for the opportunity to play for the Havoc. It was great to see so many fans and our Booster club show up and support these players. We were looking for players that found a way to separate themselves from the rest in order to get invited to our main camp.”
Slugocki (5-10, 175) is a Scottsdale, Arizona native and played club hockey at the University of Arizona. He played in 88 games and scored 63 goals and added 48 assists.
“We’re excited to see what Brian brings at our main camp in October,” Detulleo said. “He’s an excellent shooter with the right mix of skill and grit that we feel can translate to the pro level.”
Semenov (6-0, 190) is a Surrey, British Columbia native and has played in 152 career junior games and scored 35 goals and recorded 42 assists.
“Denis’ skating and speed were skills that stood out and he utilized them well throughout the weekend,” Little said. “He showed a willingness to compete physically on both the forecheck and backcheck. We are excited to see how those skills translate when he is in camp in an even more competitive atmosphere.”
The Havoc home opener is set for Saturday, November 1 at 7:30 on Breland Homes Ice at Propst Arena.
