Hampton Roads Whalers jumped out to a five-point advantage by the end of the first period and beat Atlanta Jr. Knights, 12-2.
After the loss made the series score 1-0 in the best of three series, Atlanta Jr. Knights faces elimination next time out.

Christopher Santa Maria assisted on the tally. Atlanta Jr. Knights additionally got points from Santa Maria, who also racked up one goal and one assist.
