The road to the NABA World Series will run through the five boroughs this year, as the New York City Metro Baseball League will host its first-ever tournament, the 2014 New York City Labor Day Games, from Aug. 30 to Sept. 1.

The tournament, which is open to all comers,  will boast two age divisions (18+ and 30 +) and features a cash prize of either $1,000 or $1,500, depending on the number on entrants. Teams are guaranteed at least 3 pool play games, and victorious squads will also have the chance to compete in semifinal and  championship action.

The tournament will feature teams from all over, so let's do our best to  show the rest of the country what it means to play baseball in the Big Apple. Grab your teammates, lace up your spikes, and get ready do some work on Labor Day, Metro-style.

2014 New York City Labor Day Games

DATES: Saturday, August 30, 2014 - Monday, September 1, 2014

DIVISIONS: 18+ Wood, 30+ Wood (Division will occur if 4 or more teams register by the final deposit date)

FORMAT: Pool play consisting of at least 3 games, Semifinals and Championship game

PLAYOFFS: Semifinal games either Sunday morning or Monday morning. CHAMPIONSHIPS: Monday, September 1, 2014

ENTRY FEE:

Team Fee - NABA League Team:

 $1,245.00 (If a $500 deposit or more is received prior to June 15, 2014, and paid in full by August 1, 2014); or $1,445.00 (If a $500 deposit and full payment is received between June 15, 2014 through August 15, 2014).

Team Fee - Non NABA League Team:

$1,245.00 (If a $500 deposit or more is received prior to June 15, 2014 and paid in full by August 1, 2014); or $1,595.00 (If a $500 deposit and full payment is received between June 15, 2014 through August 15, 2014).

*Team fee is for 18 player roster. Additional players over 17 on allotted roster: $25 per player.

NABA MEMBER DISCOUNT:

Any team with 10 or more NABA players who are registered in the NABA registration system online in 2014 is classified as an NABA League team and is entitled to the NABA MEMBER DISCOUNT.

DEPOSIT DATE:

A $500.00 non-refundable deposit must be received to reserve a spot in the tournament and to earn the discounts by the dates listed above. We have a limited number of spots available for this tournament. NOTE: No teams will be accepted after August 15, 2014. If you are struggling with a deposit or with team funds, call us, and we will work out a payment plan to help get your team the opportunity to play baseball in the New York City Labor Day Tournament.

ENTRY INCLUDES: Liability insurance for each team, fields, umpires, 3 baseballs for each game played per team, line-up cards, tournament rules, team champion trophy, champion finalist trophy, cash prize and cash credit toward another NABA tournament for the winning team (champion), championship game MVP award, and championship game gold glove award.
