2015 League Meeting.

On Nov. 20, scores of Metro Leaguers filed in to the Madelyn Bar and Lounge to celebrate the 2013 season and find out which NYCMBL standouts would be honored for their contributions on and off the field. 19 awards were handed out on the evening, many of them going to first-time winners.
In the Single-A division, Too Hot pulled off a near-sweep in the regular season awards department. Felix Cruz, who won the Triple Crown with a .438/3 HR/36 RBI campaign, was named the MVP while teammate Mervin Guillermo (8-2, 1.69 ERA, 91 Ks) took home the Cy Young honors. The man responsible for Too Hot's turnaround, Elvin Aymat was named Manager of the Year. Alex Sheppard, one of the leaders on the Single-A champion Dodgers' squad, won a Gold Glove for his outfield play and was named the postseason MVP. Christian Serrano of the Queens Mets picked up a Gold Glove for his near-flawless play in the infield this year, as he made just two errors in 120 total chances.
In the Double-A division, players from both the Bronx/Manhattan and Brooklyn/Queens were honored as well. Titan's slugger George Collazo (.415, 3 HR, 22 RBI) won the MVP honors in the Bronx/Manhattan division, joined by Cy Young Ryan Smith of the Beers (10-1, .56 ERA, 146 Ks). Longtime NYCMBL skipper Dan Trotta won the Manager of the Year award after his reunited Express team made its way to the conference finals. Express shortstop Randy Moya won a Gold Glove for his infield play this year, while the Titans' Jeremy Lopez was singled out for his exceptional play in the outfield.
On the Brooklyn/Queens side, BQE star Bill Pisani (.536, 2 HR, 18 RBIs) won the MVP award. The Cy Young went to Mud Hens' ace Chris Liegel, who went 8-2 with a 1.69 ERA. Anthony Pardo, who managed the Double-A champion Storm was named Manager of the Year. Jason Lopez of the Baisley Pirates won the outfield Gold Glove award, while Storm shortstop Steven Varela was named the best infielder in the conference. Mike Pena's dominant run through the playoffs netted the Storm hurler Postseason MVP honors.
In addition to these players, a number of other NYCMBL notables were singled out, including Luis Martinez who won the first-ever umpiring award handed out by league officials. Nick Travaglino of the Rainmakers was given the Commissioner’s Award, celebrating his competitiveness and dedication to fair play, and the Mud Hen's Mike Smith was named Sportsman of the Year for his work on the NYCMBL website and podcasts.
