Bolzano took over the lead for good with a goal by Insam at 2:58 in the first period. Anton Bernard picked up the assist.Val Pusteria was stymied by the Foxes netminder Matthew Zaba, who stopped 37 shots during the victory. The solid play of Zaba will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 1.31. Bolzano was led by Christian Walcher, who finished with one goal. Walcher scored 8:00 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Bolzano. Jordan Knackstedt provided the assist. The Foxes excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Bolzano also got a goal from MacGregor Sharp as well. In addition, Bolzano received assists from Stefan Zisser, who had one. The Lupi stifled Bolzano's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Val Pusteria did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season.
