Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Jr. K-Wings, proud members of the North American Hockey League, announce that forward Taylor Burden, forward Mike Fazio, and defenseman Matt Wurst have committed to University of Wisconsin-River Falls (NCAA Division III).

Taylor Burden had an exceptional second year with the Jr. K-Wings. Burden was second on the team in points with a total of 48 (20 goals and 28 assists). Those numbers are considerably higher than the 11 goals and 21 assists from a year ago. Burden also brought a veteran presence during rough patches throughout the season.

After captaining the Springfield Jr. Blues for the majority of the 2012-13 season, the Jr. K-Wings added Mike Fazio at the trade deadline. Fazio was an offensive pick-me-up during a lull for the Jr. K-Wings. Fazio added 7 goals and 1 assist in only 16 regular season contests. That presence was continued with 1 goal and 3 assists in Kalamazoo’s playoff run.

Matt Wurst spent the 2012-13 season as a veteran mainstay on the Jr. K-Wings defensive. Wurst, also a two year veteran for the Jr. K-Wings, played in all 60 contests. His numbers were on par with the previous season by contributing 2 goals and 8 assists.
