Date: Sep 27, 2013
(Summerside, PE) After a 111-99 win Wednesday night, the Summerside STORM are looking forward to the opening tip for game four of the NBL Finals at Credit Union Place against the London Lightning and an opportunity to draw even at 2 games apiece in the best of five series.
The STORM played their best game of the series Wednesday to come up with the win and look to take that momentum into game four. STORM Head Coach Joe Salerno was especially pleased to see 6'9" forward Omari Johnson get untracked. After scoring 12 points over two games in London, Johnson responded at home with a 33 point effort to lead the way for the STORM win.
The STORM are looking for a STORM White-Out to continue Friday night as fans are encouraged to show their STORM Pride by wearing their white shirts to the game. So far the STORM are two for two during STORM White-outs this season. Coach Salerno credited STORM Fans with giving the team energy during an important run in Wednesdays game and looks forward to the STORM Fans providing the same on Friday.
The STORM will also honour Prince Edward Islander and 2-time Olympian Jared Connaughton at half time during Fridays game. Connaughton is back home in New Haven and attended the Sport PEI Awards Ceremony Wednesday evening where he was named PEI's Male Athlete of the Year for the fourth time and was selected for the Lieutenant Governor’s Award for the third time.
Meanwhile, the STORM are pleased to announce that University of Prince Edward Island mascot, Pride the Panther, will join the STORM team for Fridays game and will be joining STORM Fans in cheering on the STORM to a game four win.
Tickets for game four in the series Friday at Credit Union Place are on sale at the box-office starting at 9 am until game time, by going online at the STORM website, or by calling 902-432-1234.
