ORANGEVILLE, Ontario. – The Brampton A’s have added two guards from major NCAA Division I programs to their franchise in Scottie Haralson from the University of Tulsa and Jordan Hamilton from Lehigh University. The newest additions are joining five signees already in the fold (Evaldas Zabas, Jameson Tipping, Dipanjot Singh, Cavell Johnson, Rick Bodiford) and will bring depth to a developing roster. 

Haralson began his collegiate career at The University of Connecticut (UConn) where he played with NBA players Hasheem Thabeet and Kemba Walker in the famous Big East Tournament game against Syracuse that ended in six overtimes. He was also a member of UConn’s NCAA Final Four Tournament team. After transferring to the University of Tulsa he scored over 1,000 points in just three seasons with the Golden Hurricanes.

A’s Head Coach and General Manager David Magley is thrilled to have the former Mississippi High School Mr. Basketball on his squad. Magley saw Haralson’s work ethic and character in action his three seasons at Tulsa as his son DJ were teammates and roommates, "Scottie is a phenomenal shooter and has a very strong body for a guy of 6'4.  He is a threat to shoot with accuracy from the moment he crosses half court.”

For his part Haralson, a former High School All American, is thrilled to be playing in the NBL Canada, "I started dreaming of playing professional basketball as a young person and have spent the last five years training for it. I am thrilled to be given the opportunity to further my dream in Canada.  I know that Coach Magley believes in me and I look forward to contributing in any way that they need me."

Hamilton choose to go the academic route after high school attending private Division I institution Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA. As a role player his first three years he worked his way into a starter and co-captain his senior season. In 2012 his team took Lehigh to their fifth trip to the NCAA tournament knocking out the #2 seed Duke Blue Devils in the process.

Magley spotted Hamilton at the 2012 NBL Canada Combine and reached out to him when the A’s franchise was announced. Hamilton was thrilled when he got the call, "I am excited to a be a part of the Brampton A's family and to contribute on and off the court to a organization founded on principles of improving the lives of individuals in the communities that they serve."

The A's first pre-season game is October the 25th at 7:00 PM at the Powerade Centre against the Ottawa Sky Hawks and will take the court again on Sunday the 27th @ 2:00 PM at Budweiser Gardens against the NBL’s two time defending champions London Lightening.

The Brampton A's will begin their inaugural season November 1st and will be playing in the Powerade Centre. Tickets are available through Ticket Master or at www.bramtponas.ca
