Former Big 10 Star Signs with Storm

(Summerside, PE) When the game was in the balance tied at 100 with only minutes to go in the fourth quarter the Summerside STORM made almost every foul shot down the stretch to beat the Windsor Express 109-103 in the fifth and deciding game of their NBL semi-final in front of 2,043 frenzied fans. With the series win the STORM now move on to the NBL Finals starting Saturday April 6th in London, Ontario against the Lightning. Game two will be played Sunday night with the series shifting back to Prince Edward Island for games three and four (if needed) Wednesday April 10th and 12th at Credit Union Place.
Greg Plummer had a big game for the STORM scoring 30 points to go along with 11 rebounds. Omari Johnson scored 19 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, Josiah Turner had 14 points and 10 rebounds, and Royce Parran scored 9 points and handed out 11 assists. Mike Helms was top man for Windsor with 23 points.
The nights 50-50 winner was Dave Thomas of Kensington who took home half of the total pot of $5,024. Kiel Vessey of Charlottetown won $50 cash in the Clarks Toyota Shoot to Win, while Trevor Delaney of St. Louis was the Subway prize winner. Because the STORM were winners, everyone holding a ticket at the game receives a free car wash at Wilsons Fuels on Water St. in Summerside tomorrow.
