Arizona Roadrunners: Comeback Kids

Date:  Source: NABL: Arizona Winter League

One of the closest games we've seen all season came about today on the field at Desert Sun Stadium between the Arizona Roadrunners and the Somerton Stingers. There was a lot of frequent scoring but nothing more than 1 or 2 at a time until the bottom  of the 6th where the Roadrunners sealed the deal.

Starting Pitcher for the Stingers was Yoshimune Tsujii who held pretty strong in this one. Giving up only 2 runs in the 1st Inning and keeping Arizona scoreless through the 4th, he gave his offense an opportunity to stay in the game, and that they did. The Stingers took a 4-3 lead into the bottom of the 5th Inning where Tsujii allowed 2 runs to score, still giving his team a chance in the top of the 6th to recapture the lead. They failed to do so and they went into the bottom of the 6th with a new pitcher; Adrian Romero, who was not at his best, giving up 4 hits and 3 more runs to give the Roadrunnners an 8-4 lead going into the top of the 7th inning. Needless to say, the Stingers did not prevail thanks to the unofficial close from Victor Ferrante, sitting down Somerton 1-2-3 in the 7th, securing the win for his team.
