A picture perfect Semi Final game here at Desert Sun Stadium leaves one thing for certain; San Luis will be playing tonight in the Arizona Winter League Finals at 5:00 P.M. 

   

    San Luis took a 0-2 deficit in the first 2 Innings and it would stand until the top of the 5th as the Pitcher for the San Diego Surf Dawgs, Jake Henderson, was the definition of on. Throwing a complete game in this one, but took a loss, as he couldn't hold off the Atleticos.

 

    The top half of the 5th Inning is where things turned around, the Atleticos had a runner on due to a walk of Lucas Nakandakare when Ramon Geronimo stepped into the box for the Atleticos as time was running out. Ramon wasted no time, jumping on the first pitch and driving it over the left field fence for a 2 Run Homerun, evening the score at 2-2. The score would not be tied long though, answering back in the bottom of the 5th were the Surf Dawgs, pushing 1 across in the 5th to take a 3-2 lead heading into the top of the 6th. 

 

    Bryan Marquez lead off the top of the 6th with a Single, Jarrett Northcut would reach on an error from Pitcher Henderson, and 2 runners would be on with no outs. A fielders choice from Nick Lenzendorf would put runners on the corners with 1 out, and a slow roller to short from Matt Nilmeyer would tie the game with 2 outs. The scoring stopped there and to the bottom of the 6th we went. 

 

    The Surf Dawgs would fail to score in the bottom of the 6th, so we went to the top of the 7th. San Luis would give up 2 outs quickly, but that wouldn't stop the Atleticos. With 2 outs and a runner on, James Mays ripped a Double scoring a run and giving San Luis a 4-3 lead, their first lead of the game. They wouldn't stop there though, three Singles in a row would give the Atleticos a 6-3 lead into the bottom of the 7th, and that would be the final, as Lenzendorf came in to close the door and secure San Luis in the Finals where they will face the Blythe Heat here at Desert Sun Stadium at 5:00 PM.
