Second Semester Preview

Date:  Source: ACHA: Marist Hockey

Marist Hockey will be kicking off 2016 with one game this coming weekend. The Red Foxes will take their first trip of the season to Central Connecticut State Univeristy (CCSU) on Friday night. The puck drops at 9:00pm at the Newington Ice Arena.

Sunday afternoon's game versus Bryant has been cancelled due to conditions out of our control. There is no game rescheduled at this time. We will keep you updated if a game does get rescheduled.

With a 9-9-1 record and sitting in sixth place in the SECHL, the Red Foxes see these final 10 games as the most important tilts of the season. After two impressive wins in December, Marist hopes to continue its momentum and earn some big wins to close out the season. Another article will be posted explaining what postseason opportunities are available for Marist and how the team will be able to achieve playoff berth.

Of the 10 games remaining this season, six of the games are SECHL matchups. These six games will be vital in regards to Marist's 2016 postseason hopes.

Marist hasn't faced off against SECHL rival CCSU yet this season. CCSU is only 2-5-0 in SECHL play. The two games, only a week apart will be a vital chance for Marist to earn two important wins and move up in league standings.

Marist will also have a chance to improve its league standing in games against Siena, NYU, and Montclair State.
