The five inductees include:
Mike Caridi ‘82 (Founder)
John Kurtz ‘82 (Founder)
Dennis Walsh ‘82 (Founder) – posthumously
Brian Foley ‘84
Scott Kendall ‘91
“We are extraordinarily proud to be honoring five esteemed alumni this year,” said Hall of Fame Founder and Vice-Chairman Casey Bryant (’17). “It is a privilege to induct our three club founders, as well as two of the most well-respected players in team history.”
The induction ceremony will take place at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel. Following the luncheon, the Marist hockey team will play a home game against Siena College at the Mid-Hudson Civic Center at 4:15 p.m. Registration for Alumni Day festivities, including the morning alumni game and the Hall of Fame luncheon, will be released at a later date.
Mike Caridi, John Kurtz and the late Dennis Walsh were the Founding Fathers of Marist Hockey. They were instrumental in organizing the team’s finances and integration into the Metropolitan Collegiate Hockey Conference (MCHC). Brian Foley was a distinguished puck-moving defenseman, unafraid of physical play for his teammates. Scott “Woody” Kendall ranks as one of the most prolific goal scorers in school history.
The Marist Hockey Hall of Fame held its inaugural induction ceremony on January 20, 2018, honoring five former players and coaches. Its board is headed by Chairman Brian Pecchia (’08) and current head coach Michael Beck. Members consist of current and former Marist Hockey coaches as well as members of Rant Sessions Media.
