Last-second goal gives Blaze weekend sweep over Berkley

DECATUR, Ill. - Luka Znidarsic's second goal of the game at 19:57 of the third period snapped a 3-3 tie and the Blaze held on for a 4-3 win Sunday afternoon to get the weekend sweep over the Berkley Bruins at the Decatur Civic Center.

Znidarsic also added an assist for a three-point game.

Shane Johnson had tied the game for Decatur at the 17:44 mark of the third.

Micah Young added a goal for Decatur, while captain John Urmetz picked up two assists.

Blaze goaltender Paul Stomper registered his third win of the weekend with an 18-save effort.

For the Bruins, Tory Shand had a goal and an assist, while Colton James and Tim Muhsman tallied single goals.

Berkley goaltender Jacob Gorzelski finished with 44 saves.

The Bruins play just a single game this weekend, Saturday at home versus the MC Monarchs. Game time is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
