Date: Nov 11, 2014

ALPENA, Mich. – Ryker Kain’s shorthanded goal eight minutes into the third period stood as the game-winner and Hunter Myers made 40 saves to lift the Berkley Bruins over the Alpena Flyers 4-3 Saturday night at Northern Lights Arena.
Cristian Purdom, Tim Muhsman and Alex Anderson also scored for the Bruins, who have defeated Alpena in four of their five meetings this season.
“We had very good positioning tonight,” Bruins’ head coach Dan Pszenyczny said. “We were strong in front of our net and Hunter played a very good game in net.”
“The boys played as a team tonight,” added Muhsman. “We worked hard, played smart, took advantage of our opportunities, finished our checks and Hunter played on his head tonight. This win is huge for us.”
For the Flyers, Jared Kwiatkowski scored twice and Garret Bailey added a goal and an assist as goalie Brett LeTourneau finished with 22 saves between the pipes.
The two teams wrap up their weekend series Sunday at 2:05 p.m.
