Griffin Helms is a catcher who joins the Muskrats following his sophomore
year at Kennesaw State University. In 2016, Griffin led the Owls to an A-Sun title
with a .384 batting average in 32 games. He hit 4 home runs and drove in 23 runs.
Additionally, Griffin was selected to the Atlantic Sun Conference Academic All-Conference
team. In 2015 he played in 32 games and finished the season batting .264
with one home run and 14 RBIs. Griffin is the son of Conrad Helms III and Ruthie
Norman. He has four siblings. The Norcross, Georgia native attended Norcross High
School, where he earned three letters for baseball. He was a three time All-American
catcher, was ranked No. 49 in the nation among high school prospects, No. 1 in the
state of Georgia and No. 5 nationally among catchers. He was also honored as twotime
top-10 high school MLB draft prospects on the rise and was two-time All-State.
